Yokai March: Kamaitaichi

"Yokai weasels. Often traveling in groups of three, Kamaitachi appear as a whirlwind, slicing into flesh while causing no pain to their victims."

I didn't know much about this guy until I started reading about him today. When I saw a picture of him in a book on Yokai in art I knew I wanted to include him in this set. I don't get many opportunities to work on animals like these, but this was fun one to do.

While I based their design mainly on the old prints, I decided to make their "sickle claws" actually razor sharp wind that projects from their paws. It certainly explains how they are able to produce a whirlwind, but the wind effect was a nice challenge >v</
