Yae as Shanoa from C:OoE

This halloween, Yae decided to do something extra special and dressed up as Shanoa from Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Now whether it's the ghostly army of Dochuki or Dracula's evil minions, Yae is ready to fight any undead any time...

I love Shanoa's outfit in Order of Ecclesia, way more awesome than it is Judgement, and I wanted to do a chibi-fied character dressed this way. At first I was split between doing a chibi-fied Shanoa or Yae in Shanoa's costume. In the end the latter won out, since OoE still hasn't come out in the UK, thanks to a delayed release, and when I draw fanart I prefer to have an understanding of the character at hand, in order to create an image that truly represents them.

This was actually meant to be a speed exercise in working with photoshop, but it quickly evolved into something more when I started developing my natural media style. It helps that I used another Japanese print for the background (The Torii Gate by Hiroshige II) and this gave me more time to work on Yae. I think I've only just started to master this acrylic style, but overall I don't think it came out too bad.

Anyway I hope you Yae fans like her ^^
